Cookie and Session Policy

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar browser technologies, such as local storage, can remember preferences or short-lived security information.

We use essential session cookies to keep registered users logged in, protect account sessions, and make authenticated features work. These cookies are necessary for the service and cannot be disabled through a Freshwipe cookie preference panel without breaking login features.

Examples include login/session cookies and security cookies used to validate that a request belongs to the right browser session.

When you sign in with Steam or connect a Steam account, freshwipe.gg may use a short-lived security cookie during the Steam/OpenID flow. This helps confirm that the Steam callback belongs to the same browser that started the login request.

This cookie is temporary and is not used to track you across unrelated websites.

We may use local storage or similar browser storage for interface preferences, such as saved UI settings, account flow state, or other small convenience features. These settings are stored in your browser and can usually be cleared through browser settings.

If you use Stripe checkout, Stripe billing portal, or another payment provider, that provider may set its own cookies or use similar technologies for payment security, fraud prevention, checkout, and regulatory compliance.

Payment-provider cookies are controlled by the payment provider, not directly by freshwipe.gg.

If freshwipe.gg later uses non-essential analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies, we will update this policy and add consent controls where legally required before those cookies are used.

Basic server-side operational analytics, security logs, and abuse-prevention logs may still be collected where necessary for legitimate interests and platform reliability.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, Steam linking, billing, support tickets, owner tools, favorites, LFG, and other account features from working.
